The divorce system is counterintuitive and morally bankrupt, and needs reinventing What the organized fathers groups want isnt wrong or mean-spirited but right and fair to children. Who among us can blame a man, wrongfully denied his own child, for shouting out that he was  framed?syndicated columnist  Kathleen Parker

DWAYNE WADE IN CUSTODY BATTLE

Will Dwaynes  "celebrity"  be able to overcome the family courts bias against paternal custody ?

IT IS THE INNOCENTS WHO SUFFER

Thousands and thousands of dysfunctional damaged children growing up each year. What a burden and cost to put on society. Therapy, incarceration, hospitalization, loss of productivity. We all know a parent who thinks of themself first and their child last. Our laws should protect children from these alienating behaviors.

"Patty, a Fathers & Families' supporter and participant in our campaign, writes:
My parents ended their marriage when I was seven years old. My siblings and I saw our father every other Sunday, from Noon until 6 PM. I was told that at the age of 12 that I could decide if I wanted to continue these visits. It was made very clear to me what my decision was to be.

As the time approached, I decided to be brave and say that I still wanted to see my father. I never had the chance. My mother told me that because we had recently moved 10 miles away from where my father lived, he found it inconvenient to pick us up.

I was devastated. In spite of all of the horror stories I had heard from my Mother, he was kind to me I saw him once when I was seventeen, and I felt so guilty that I put off making another visit. He died less than a year later.

I believe that this parental alienation has caused me a tremendous amount of unhappiness and confusion, and cost me a small fortune in therapy. I am now watching my brother and a friend of mine try to maintain relationships with their children, while their ex-wives undermine them daily.

I found out the truth from my mother just a few months ago—that she had told the Courts I had decided not to see my father. No one asked me. The peace this information has provided is astonishing to me and I am 51 years old. "

US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT COVERS ALIENATION

Remember when destructive alienating behaviors by parents in a divorce where dismissed and
diminished by the cry of "junk science"  from the feminists. As if they have a clue about human behavior and
what alienation does to children. Theirs was purely a political agenda. With not a care at all as to what alienation has done to millions of children. The havoc it has reeked on their innocent lives. The damage it has caused society as a whole.  Drug abuse, crime, death, high school drop out rates. All are attributed to fatherlessness. Well
some main stream media are starting to take a look at this issue and it's about time.
The feminists strategy is clear. Distract and refocus the debate on bogus issues, "it's not really a syndrome",  "it's not recognized" , "it's just a trick by abusers so they can keep abusing". Everyone knows alienation happens.  Who the hell cares if it's a disease or a syndrome. The debate we should be having is how do we minimize or prevent it in the context of divorce.  Comment to the editor and show your support for changing the law to help protect children fom this insidious poison.

ALEC BALDWIN , CAN HE CHANGE THE FACE OF FAMILY LAW ?

Ht_baldwin_080916_mn

His new book is now available. The book details his experience with the family law racket. How it destroyed him and his family. And how it continues. He is the most high profile victim of the system to date. Yet he was chewed up and spit out just like tens of thousands of  parents are every year.  We hope that the publicity will help bring change to our flawed and destructive system.  Do it , "for the children"

DIVORCE COURT BEHIND LETTERMAN EXTORTION PLOT

Why is it that every horrific story we hear about is somehow involved with the family court?
While we do not encourage or excuse extortion could impossibly high alimony and child support judgements encourage these type of illegalities? Read the story here and compare an assistant producers salary to the support this guy had to pay.  Just sayin..........

WOMAN ON MAN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The murder of Steve McNair is domestic violence, plain and simple.
Is it posssible for society to get it's head around the idea that women also commit domestic
violence? We at NEP have been saying for years that the evidence shows women commit domestic violence
at roughly the same rate as men. The difference is that we don't call it that. The feminists have
succeeded in re-defining woman on man violence so that even in this heinous murder it is percieved to
be McNairs  fault.  Heres a great article on the subject.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILD DON'T ALIENATE  !!!

Heres a father who was alienated.

HOW CAN THERE BE SO MANY BAD JUDGES?

Del Vecchio, Halverson, and now another one ! This must be some kinda record. Yep, you heard right. One more BAD JUDGE..

Nevada what are you doing wrong???

NEP RIGHT AGAIN

As we wrote about a long while back, (see Bad Judges below) another one bites the dust. Judge Nicholas Del Vecchio, a FAMILY COURT Judge, and pedophile has finally been removed from the bench. This would be a time to rejoice and celebrate if it were not so pathetic. The charges against this pillar of our judicial community began in 2000 !! It was not until he was voted out in this years primary that the Judicial Commission chose to act. Talk about gutless. Ask yourself, what would they have done if he had not lost his election.......

WHAT DOES THE NATIONAL JUDICIAL COLLEGE DO ?

Heres a story about what one Judge did while attending an educational meeting for Judges. related: (see who teaches the Judges below)

IMPORTANT NEW STUDY RELEASED

A milestone in recognizing the credibility of the family court reform movement has been published by the American Psychological Association. The APA is the most credible organization there is when it comes to social and family issues. The APA gave a stunning review of Stephen Baskerville's new book Taken Into Custody. Heres an excerpt:

This book makes a major social contribution by exposing a massive, yet heretofore hidden, divorce and "child protection" industry with its negative impact on children, mothers, fathers, and society

IS THE FAMILY COURT ESSENTIAL ?

In these times of financial crisis every citizen is suffering. Perhaps it's time to look at some of our useless government programs and 'cut the fat'.

Never have so many done so little for so few for so much.

Anonymous Nevada Legislator

JUDGES WHO ONLY LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER, NO WAY

This can't be true. I am shocked. A fraudulent system so that Judges who are thrown off the bench or retire can still feed at the public trough. Not in America.... I guess we should be glad though, because judge Hardesty says we are getting a real value. Wow a Costco Judge thats great ! I guess this story directly relates to the one just below.

WHO TEACHES THE JUDGES ?

How prophetic. We have been raising the issue of corrupt and incompetent family court judges for 9 years. Heres a story about fraud and corruption at the National Judicial College in Reno. These are the people teaching our Judges about ethics. No wonder our Judges are so bad.

IT'S ALL ABOUT PROTECTING THE WOMEN

Department of Justice statistics show domestic violence (DV) in married, intact couples is only 2% http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/intimate/victims.htm.

So why do the public and state legislators believe that partner violence is out of control?

Each year the federal government bankrolls the domestic violence industry to the tune of $1 billion. That money is authorized by the Violence Against Woman Act (VAWA) and other laws.

Much of that money is awarded to state domestic violence coalitions. In at least three cases New Hampshire, Maine, and West Virginia these coalitions have denied membership to organizations that proposed to provide domestic violence services to male victims of domestic violence in spite of Section 40002(b)(8) of VAWA 2005 which states, "Nothing in this title shall be construed to prohibit male victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking from receiving benefits and services under this title".

State DV coalitions often sponsor biased training programs to legislators, judges, and the public, falsely claiming that domestic violence is "overwhelmingly" perpetrated by men. (For examples, see RADARs Special Report, "Education for Injustice" http://mediaradar.org/docs/RADARreport-Education-For-Injustice.pdf)

In addition, state DV coalitions have become lobbying organizations. In many states they have successfully pressured legislators to weaken protective order standards and enact all-encompassing definitions of DV. They have also pushed state legislatures to adopt mandatory arrest polices, no-drop prosecution, and primary aggressor laws.

BAD JUDGES?,  NOT IN NEVADA

Yet another rotten apple. As our Judiciary continues to insist it is doing a good job and refuses to make a real effort at reform here is a story of another bad Judge. When will they learn??

DO KIDS REALLY NEED BOTH PARENTS ??

Warren Farrell is the most influential writer on the subject of shared parenting alive today. He has single handedly pushed this issue into the public consciousness despite being hugely outnumbered and out gunned by the opposition. Click this link to see a talk by Dr Farrell which will change your mind forever on why a presumption of shared parenting is critical to the survival of our children and our society. This is the most concise intelligent discussion on this topic I have ever seen. Watch , Listen, and learn.

ABOLISH FAMILY COURT

Anyone who has been in Nevada for several years can recall when our legislature in all their wisdom established the family Court in 1992. After 5 years of a dysfunctional and incompetent court our wise legislators were forced to convene a subcommittee to study the numerous problems they had created.  One of the main suggestions at the time was to abolish the court. Makes sense, we created it, it isn't working, get rid of it. But this common sense flies in the face of one of the basic tenets of government. Never, EVER, get smaller. Keep growing ever-expanding because as we know government is the largest employer in the state. We cannot expect government to reign itself in, we must do that. So it is not surprising that the idea of abolishing Family Court was completely dismissed and never considered a serious option.

Click here to read the minutes of the hearings of that committee. This makes fascinating reading and is a perfect example of how once a government program is established it is impossible to get rid of.

So the family law system must find new and inventive ways to get into our lives and micromanage our families to justify their huge bureaucracy. How much money could we save for education and other vital programs if we abolished family court ?

FAMILY COURT REFORM ?

As the media is filled with more and more stories of government and judicial corruption the Supreme Ct of Nevada has formed the "Article 6 Commission". The task of this group of mostly attorneys is

to examine not only the constitutional provisions governing the judiciary, but also any other major concerns about the Nevada Courts that are identified, even if not specifically referenced in the Nevada Constitution.

Will the commission examine the bias and corruption of the Family Courts? Insiders tell us that the real goal of the commission is to pass the modified Missouri Plan through the Legislature so that Judges will be appointed rather than elected. Will that solve the problem?  Probably not, the Judges will just be corrupted by a different set of masters.

For once let us have a government body that does what it is tasked to do. Contact every member of the commission ( they are listed under the link) and let them know there are serious problems in the Family Court. One small step would be a presumption of joint custody. Let your Legislators know you support that presumption as not only the right thing but the constitutional thing to do.
